St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network

Hawksbill and green nesting beaches are monitoring during the nesting season (May through February) at minimum three times per week. Each nest is marked, relocated and/or outfitted with an anti-predator device if necessary, and monitored until hatch following which it is excavated to determine hatch success.  These patrols are lead by our Senior Sea Turtle Technician,
